✨Happy Vedic New Year 🌸
🌸 Happy Vedic New Year 🌸
A gentle new beginning
The Vedic (or Hindu) New Year doesn’t begin on January 1st, but follows the rhythm of the lunar calendar. It usually falls in March or April, aligning with the arrival of spring — a season of renewal, growth, and quiet transformation.
Across different regions and traditions, this new beginning is celebrated in various ways, such as Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, or during Chaitra Navratri — each carrying its own rituals, meanings, and beauty.
With this new year, we also enter a new cycle in traditional calendars, such as Vikram Samvat 2082 or Shaka Samvat 1947. (I might post a blog explaining this time system later.)
Interestingly, a Vedic clock has been installed as of April 5th 2026 in Kashi Vishwanath, India. This holy place now houses a Vedic clock that shows the time according to this system.
A reminder that time, in many ways, is not linear — but cyclical.
Always moving, always returning, always offering another beginning.
For me, this moment is less about celebration in the loud sense, and more about a quiet reset.
A soft pause.
A chance to reflect on what I want to carry forward — and what I’m ready to release.
No pressure to reinvent everything overnight.
Just a gentle invitation to realign.
To return to stillness.
To move with intention.
To begin again — in my own way, at my own pace.
Maybe this is your reminder too:
You don’t have to rush into the new.
You can arrive there slowly.
A new cycle begins — gently, consciously, and in alignment.
In that gentle energy of a new beginning…
Today felt especially meaningful—I had the opportunity to give a speech, and I’ve also shared my words on YouTube post. You can now find it here on my blog as well.
I also released a new 5-minute relaxing guided meditation session on YouTube—this felt like the perfect moment to share something calming and grounding. On that note, you might also enjoy starting anew with these breakfast ideas. ☕️
✨ As spring brings new life, may this Vedic New Year bring renewal, joy, and prosperity into your life.
