Diary of a Yoga Teacher: Settling In, Shifting, Showing Up (Incl. YouTube video link)

Diary of a Yoga Teacher — Getting Settled In

There’s a moment before the pose.
Before the breath deepens. Before the class begins. Before I fully arrive.

You’ll see it in the video — the quiet shifting, the grounding, the subtle micro-movements.
A soft shuffle forward, lowering into a seat, adjusting my stance.
It’s not performative. It’s not curated.
It’s the settling in.

These in-between moments matter to me.
Because being a yoga teacher isn’t just what I do when I’m guiding others.
It’s how I move when no one’s looking.
How I listen to my own body first.
How I meet myself before I meet the room.

Settling in is part of the practice.
It’s not polished. It’s not always graceful.
But it’s honest. And it’s mine.

🌀 Gentle reflections for your own practice:

  • Can you allow yourself to be present in the in-between moments — before the “real” practice begins?
  • What do your transitions say about your state of mind?
  • How would it feel to honour the way you arrive, not just the moment you do?

✨ Thank you for being here — for witnessing these quiet parts of the process.

TL;DR: A yoga teacher’s diary: gentle, mindful moments of settling in before class. The practice before the practice, presence in transitions and micro-movements.
